10 Questions to Ask Your Caterer

 

  • What is your specialty? We always think that is a hard questions to answer.  Since we like to create menus and events around our clients dreams we would have to say playing with the food is our specialty.  From comfort food to high end, making and presenting it in a way that is not as common is what we like to do.

 

  • What is your price range? Short Bus Catering has pricing from $25 per person up to $125 per person depending on the menu and level of service.  Most of our weddings end up between $40 & $60 per person with appetizers and drinks.

 

  • Is your kitchen licensed and may we come visit it?  While there are some caterers who cook from home or in unlicensed facilities, Short Bus Catering operates in a licensed kitchen.  At this time we do not allow clients to come to our kitchen.

 

  • Do you have insurance?  Short Bus Catering  is fully insured.

 

  • How long have you been catering? We have been catering since 2011.

 

  • Can you provide bar service and are you licensed to serve alcohol?  Short Bus Catering can not provide bar service for your event but we can help find someone for you.

 

  • What is your payment policy?  Do you accept credit cards? We collect $2000 non-refundable deposit with your Event Agreement contract, and final payment 14 days before the event..  And yes, we accept credit cards, at no additional charge and can accommodate a prepayment plan if needed.

 

  • Who can help us with the rentals for our event?  Short Bus Catering works with a few different rental companies to find what your looking for.  From Tents, Chairs, and Linen to specialty party supplies, we can almost find anything.  We don’t mark up your rentals like some caterers, we just want to help control the little things so you don’t forget something.

 

  • Can we sample your food?  We do not offer tasting at this time.  Some clients have done a private dinner party to taste our creations.

 

  • How many large events do you do at one time?  We only do one wedding or large event per day so that we can focus our best resources on that one event.  This is why it is important to secure your date as far in advance as possible.
